Lagos was lit with excitement on Sunday as Banku music sensation and B.O.Y Music signee, Ofego, recorded a landmark moment in his career at the 2025 Notable Africa Music Awards (NAMA), carting away multiple top honours at the prestigious ceremony.

The fast-rising artiste emerged Songwriter of the Year, a title he previously won at the 2024 Ghana edition of the awards held in Accra, reaffirming his consistency and lyrical depth in the African music space. In addition to the songwriting accolade, Ofego’s widely celebrated project, D Girls Dem Daddy, was named Album of the Year, while its official visuals, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Madumike, clinched Music Video of the Year.

Speaking while receiving the awards, Ofego expressed deep gratitude to God, his loyal fan base and his record label, B.O.Y Music, for their unwavering support. He also commended the organisers of the Notable Africa Music Awards, describing the platform as “the future of African music and a true celebration of creative excellence across the continent.”

The artiste, who arrived at the event alongside members of his team and associates, was one of the standout acts of the night, with his wins further solidifying his growing influence within and beyond Nigeria’s music industry.
